Facilities

A bit of history…  Bonn Abbey has been crafted using unique local stone and recycled timber throughout. Many of the features of this house tell a story, from the leadlight doors of the old Randwick wool sheds, beams and posts from the Darling Harbour sheds and the fireplace mantle from the old Singleton railway station. It has everything from a huge modern double spa to a lovely antique claw foot bathroom. The soaring cathedral ceilings are built from exposed timber rafters and the floor is a combination of cool slate, polished floorboards and carpet in the bedrooms.

The Abbey was opened up in 2005 as self-contained accommodation and has been styled and furnished to maintain the theme of a beautiful old building with added comfy sofas beds you can sink into.

Bonn Abbey is situated on the back road in the small village of Broke and is surrounded by lawns and gardens with stunning views over the valley. The property consists of four bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms to accommodate 12 guests or 9 guests in individual beds.

The property has a great outdoor area with large table which has an uninterrupted view all the way to the mountains. We also have an enclosed dog area at the back of the property for your furry friend.

We provide free WiFi and two TV areas. The TVs are located in the lounge  and in the upstairs bedroom. We also have WiFi speakers and a Blu-Ray player for music plus a DVD and CD library.

Bonn Abbey has three reverse cycle air conditioners, one in the main lounge and the other two in the upstairs bedrooms. All rooms have ceiling fans. The Abbey has a large central lounge area on the ground floor complete with a huge fireplace.

The kitchen is fully equipped with cutlery, crockery and glassware for up to 12 guests. The kitchen also has an extensive range of cookware and utensils. There is also an oven and cooktop plus a dishwasher and two fridges. Other kitchen equipment consists of blenders and a Nespresso coffee machine.

The outside entertainment area consists of a large covered area with table and chairs and a BBQ area with a hooded BBQ. There is a laundry in the cupboard in the main bathroom with washing machine and dryer.

We provide an iron and ironing board and a hairdryer in all bathrooms plus toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. We provide a selection of Nespresso Pods (about two pods per person) plus tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper. We also provide cling wrap, foil and baking paper.

All bedrooms have luxurious commercial quality Sealy beds and mattresses. The King bed upstairs can be split into two King singles if required. All beds are made with crisp cotton commercially laundered linen. We have a firm and a soft pillow selection for each bed plus a light quilt in the summer months and two quilts in the winter. There is also a good selection of warm blankets. We provide one bath towel per person (extra if your stay is over 3 nights) and all bathrooms have bath mats and hand towels. RELAXING TRANQUILITY

Thank you for such a wonderful and pleasant stay at Bonn Abbey. You catered for almost all of our needs and the tranquility, peace and remoteness of the house was just what we needed to escape the realities and demands of city life. Our trip could not come at a better time and it gave us a chance to find some peace and de-stress from studying and work. Bonn Abbey is a wonderful home set in a beautiful town. It was great to wake up to fresh air, green scenery and open skies. You provided us with so many activities to keep us busy in the house that it was hard to leave. The open fireplace was awesome and the kitchen was definitely well equipped ranging from saucepans down to the smaller details such as a pizza cutter. We had a ball making apple pie and sticky date pudding whilst having an X-men marathon. Had it not been so cold, I’m sure we would have taken advantage of the garden and outdoor setting. However, we were content to laze around the fireplace on the very comfy sofas. In hindsight, our stay was too short and if given the opportunity, we would love to stay with you again in the future.
